Ferrari Challenge – Drivers from 24 countries at the Finali Mondiali

Scarperia, 20 October – 76 drivers will participate in the Finali Mondiali at the Mugello circuit from 5 to 8 Novembre. First they will compete in the final races of the three championship series, Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific, then, on Sunday, they will vie for the much sought-after world champion title in the Trofeo Pirelli, Pirelli Am, and Coppa Shell categories.

Record large field. Italy and the United States are the two countries with the largest contingents in the entry lists: 14 drivers each. They are followed by Germany with six representatives, including the incumbent Challenge Europa Trofeo Pirelli champion Bjorn Grossmann, and by China, with five drivers, all very competitive and brilliant in the Asian series.

Few in number, but good. Some of the countries with fewer representatives can count on the championship’s true stars. This is the case of India, with Gautam Singhania, who is having a phenomenal season in Coppa Shell in Europe, or of Belgium, both of whose representatives, Jacques Duyver and Florian Merckx, hold first place in Coppa Shell and third in Trofeo Pirelli Europe respectively. Indonesia too can count on two superb drivers such as Renaldi Hutasoit and David Tjiptobjantoro, who are challenging the Australian Steve Wyatt for the Trofeo Pirelli title in Asia. So many strong drivers competing in the races that count for the title of world champion guarantee a thrill-filled show…
